You may have noticed that my website is pretty basic and uninspiring. I don’t really want to say that is part of some big sales scheme I have, because it clearly isn’t.
Over the years of being into marketing and all the tactics and strategies that come and go, I’m afraid I’ve gotten a bit soured on the whole thing. Especially certain types of digital marketing.
Specifically manipulative and aggressively persuasive marketing and the like. If you’re into sales and marketing you probably know what I mean. Much of it comes down to the intention behind it.
Deadlines, fake scarcity, fear mongering, creating visions in your head of potential outcomes, and other such schemes tend to wear thin on me, and I really wish they didn’t work so well sometimes.
I really like the idea of committing to more honorable marketing and making our best effort at having good intentions in our businesses.
That’s one of my main themes I will always harp on. I’m not saying I’m a saint and everyone else should be too. I just think it a good thing to strive for in your business. Marketing with integrity and honesty without resorting to manipulative and basically propaganda type messaging.
