What is the purpose of marketing strategy?

It is basically figure out how to bring the business and its products to the customer. Its managing customer relationships. Its communication. Its positioning and branding.

Marketing strategy is managing anything that effects how the customer sees and interacts with the company and the products. Thats one way of looking at it.

I suppose the problem with marketing is it is always a bit of a moving target. Its dynamic and what works today might not work every day. Trends change and timing is always a factor.

“Marketing” tends to be lumped into every other business function but it really doesn’t operate the same way. Its is a sort of blend of science and art form.

Perhaps thats why I tended to enjoy it more than other topics like accounting or coding. It isn’t dry numbers and data. It requires imagination, intuition, and maybe less time in front of a computer on spreadsheets.

Anywho, the point of this email is to change your perception of marketing strategy. Its an interesting subject that can solve a heck of alot of problems for anyone running or just thinking of running the their own business.
