I’m sure you’ve seen an abandoned house at some point in your life. The mangled roof, busted windows, door hanging off the hinges, and grown up yard. Maybe even a dead tree here or there.
It doesn’t take long either. Just a few months and things start to fall apart. It’s an amazing thing.
It’s as if the house knows nobody is in it anymore. It gives up staying together when no one is there to tend it. How else can you explain the roof or the paint just deciding to fall off mere minutes after abandonment?
Unfortunately this can be applied to your own mind too. Stop being present, stop tending to your thoughts, stop being committed to your faith, and things start to fall apart quick.
Fear, despair, degeneracy. These abound. Entropy always moves you towards lack and harm.
Anyways, the lesson is if you aren’t moving forward you are probably moving backwards. Tend to your thoughts and stay on top of things as best you can.
One good way to do that is get on the free email list and pick up my “As a Man Thinketh Companion.” As soon as it is done at least.
