I live in West Texas and grew up farming my whole life. In between tractor driving I did go to school for a while, eventually getting an MBA in Marketing from West Texas A&M.
So in some ways I take a simple and practical attitude towards marketing with all its schemes and strategies. I always had an interest in marketing and the methods used but there was always a part of me that was slightly repulsed by it as well. I came to see it as something that can be either good or bad, you just have to decipher it for yourself.Â
I think most people know why you might instinctively find repulsion by marketing. Sales and persuasion can be beneficial and honest, but it can easily be abused and used in a negative way. Marketing can be used to attempt to manipulate, control, and otherwise influence people with deceptive and subversive techniques.Â
I already had the idea to start helping others discern manipulation in marketing but having children changed my course a bit. I started to look into all the things being thrown at them. Â
Some of marketing is practically psychological subversion and building a defense against it was clearly a valuable thing to do. What inspired me the most was realizing that parents and children are under fire the worst of anyone and need resources to help them.Â
With that in mind, I am regularly creating informational products designed to help people that desire to defend themselves and "resist" the negative propaganda in the world. Subscribe to the email list to get consistent tips and insights and get a free digital copy of the Marketing Combat Newsletter.
This free copy is one issue of my monthly digital product called The Marketing Combat Newsletter. It may not be for everyone as I go in depth on common and trendy marketing strategies, analyze all sorts of media outlets, come up with new techniques and ideas to combat manipulation, and more.
As always thanks for visiting
